1.75 million customers expected as new airport improvements and summer experiences continue to come online
DFW AIRPORT, Texas (July 1, 2026)
Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) is preparing for a busy Independence Day travel period, with approximately 1.75 million customers expected to travel to, through or from the airport between July 2 and July 7.
Travel demand remains strong throughout the holiday period. DFW expects its highest customer volumes on:
- Thursday, July 2: 275,766 customers
- Sunday, July 5: 269,518 customers
- Monday, July 6: 279,813 customers (busiest projected day)
Airport roadways, terminal curbs and parking facilities are expected to be busiest on these days, particularly during the late morning and early evening hours. Customers are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time and use DFW's real-time digital tools to check parking availability, security checkpoint wait times and traffic conditions before heading to the airport.
DFW recommends arriving at least two hours before domestic departures and three hours before international departures, with additional time allowed for roadway traffic, parking and security screening.

Customers who plan ahead, allow extra time and use DFW’s digital tools will be best positioned for a smooth travel experience.

Lots of New this Summer
This summer, customers are seeing years of planning and investment come to life across DFW. Recent milestones include the opening of nine new gates into Terminal C, new right-hand roadway access to Terminals A, B and C, expanded customer amenities and a growing collection of new shopping and dining options across the airport.
More than 200 shopping, dining and service options are now available throughout DFW, with additional local favorites and national brands on the way. Whether arriving, departing or connecting, customers are experiencing new improvements from the roadway to the gate throughout their journey.
Thousands of Global Visitors are Traveling Through DFW
As North Texas welcomes visitors from around the world, DFW continues to serve as a key gateway for fans, teams and visitors, offering more than 270 nonstop destinations.
Customers will find tournament-themed activations throughout the airport, including watch parties, food and beverage specials, giveaways, interactive experiences and Coca-Cola promotions across all five terminals.
DFW’s dedicated tournament customer hub, multilingual resources, transportation guides and real-time travel tools are helping visitors navigate the airport and North Texas throughout the tournament.
Follow Curbside and Parking Guidelines
To keep traffic moving, DFW reminds customers that terminal curbs are reserved for active loading and unloading only.
Drivers waiting for arriving passengers should use designated cell phone lots or one-hour garage parking, available at no additional charge.
Customers are encouraged to Prebook Parking for the best rates and use TollTag lanes for the fastest entry and exit experience.
Through the myDFW Rewards program, customers earn points on eligible Prebook Parking purchases that can be redeemed for future parking savings. To celebrate the program, both existing and new customers who create or have a myDFW account by Sept. 30, 2026, will receive a 100-point bonus.

Use Public Transit to Avoid Traffic
Public transit remains a convenient option for avoiding roadway congestion during peak periods, offering direct access to airport terminals.
- DART Orange Line provides direct rail service between Terminal A and destinations including downtown Dallas, Las Colinas and Plano.
- DART Silver Line connects customers to Terminal B from Plano, Richardson, Addison, Carrollton and Coppell.
- Trinity Metro TEXRail provides direct service between downtown Fort Worth and Terminal B, with stops throughout Tarrant County.
- Customers traveling on Trinity Railway Express can connect between CentrePort/DFW Airport Station and Terminal D using the TRE Link shuttle.
- This is the most direct public transit option from the airport to Dallas Stadium for a tournament.
