As part of its ongoing commitment to innovation and sustainability, Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) will pilot a series of cutting-edge electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in a showcase of new and emerging charging technology.
The Airport’s Innovation and Planning teams, in partnership with consultant STV, will host a series of five EV charging demonstrations from May through August at various customer parking lots across DFW. These demonstrations will offer the chance to test different EV charging solutions – such as autonomous robotic wireless charging, on-demand charging and apps that enable charging control from anywhere in the world. The demonstrations will each focus on a different provider and a next-generation technology solution and will be available to airport employees and members of the public who are interested in participating.
“Finding the right technology solutions to meet DFW’s future challenges is a major focus for our team,” said DFW Executive Vice President of Innovation Paul Puopolo. “We know that electric vehicles will be a big part of the future of transportation, and we are leaning into emerging technology now so that we are prepared to meet the needs of the airport community well into the future.”
