DFW Launches Route to Madrid, Spain on Iberia

News Image Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) added a new international air carrier today with the launch of non-stop service to Madrid, Spain on Iberia. The route will be serviced by the 288-seat Airbus A330-200s and will operate four times weekly.

“The addition of Iberia adds to DFW Airport’s already extensive global network, creating more options and easy to access destinations for our customers,” said John Ackerman, EVP global strategy and development. “DFW is one of the most connected airports in the world, linking our customers to 194 U.S. cities and 70 global gateways whether they are traveling for business or pleasure.”

The flight from DFW to Madrid will be the first time Iberia has operated a long-haul flight utilizing a sustainable fuel mix. The use of fuels from sustainable sources forms part of Iberia's strategy to contribute to the green transition of the aviation sector. This aligns with DFW Airports focus on sustainability and being the first and largest carbon neutral Airport in the world, with a goal of being net zero by 2030.

The new service provides customers with another convenient choice when traveling to Spain or beyond, adding to the daily service between DFW Airport and Madrid provided by American Airlines. From Madrid, customers can easily continue to more than 50 destinations across Europe served by Iberia. Those traveling from Madrid to DFW Airport will similarly benefit from seamless connections to 98 destinations across the U.S. and 24 destinations to Mexico via oneworld® carriers.

DFW Airport will be the eighth U.S. destination served by Iberia.
