DFW AIRPORT, Texas (Nov. 21, 2022) – Between Thursday, Nov. 17, and Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2022, the second busiest airport in the world, Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), expects to welcome 2.6 million customers for the Thanksgiving Holiday period. The busiest of these days will be Sunday, Nov. 27, 2022, with over 243,000 customers traveling. This amount of customers signifies a full recovery, as the Airport has reached 2019 customer levels. DFW anticipates welcoming over 78 million customers in 2023, exceeding 2019 levels.
“DFW is looking forward to a great Thanksgiving Holiday travel period this year. We are very grateful that so many have chosen DFW Airport as their destination or connection Airport,” said Chief Executive Officer Sean Donohue. “This return to 2019 customer levels reflects the strong demand for travel, and DFW is proud to do our part and provide an elevated customer experience to all.”
Here are some tips for customers to make their DFW experience as enjoyable as possible. We recommend that customers arrive at DFW at least two hours before a domestic flight and three hours before an international flight to allow ample time for check in and security screening. We expect our parking garages and lots to be very busy, and Terminals C and D tend to fill up the quickest. Customers flying American Airlines can park, check in, and check baggage at any of our five terminals for more convenience. After checking in at any terminal customers can then use our Skylink train to easily connect to any other terminal in just a few minutes. Customers can also use the DFW Airport App to find real-time TSA security wait times and the locations of TSA Pre-Check lanes for eligible passengers. As always, customers should check with their airline for the most accurate flight information.
