DFW Airport Demonstrates the Airport of the Future at Major Cargo Conference

News Image DFW AIRPORT, Texas (May 18, 2022) – Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) executives will discuss topics ranging from sustainability to digital transformation, infrastructure investments, and innovation at the CNS Conference. Over 600 cargo executives will have the opportunity to learn how DFW Airport is leading the industry in preparing for the future. The topics presented demonstrate why DFW Airport is the ideal cargo gateway and how innovations on the passenger side will also benefit cargo operations.

DFW Airport is making significant investments in its cargo business, including development of two new buildings that will facilitate e-commerce and the deployment of a Cargo Cloud that provides a digital platform to allow all members of the cargo community to seamlessly and efficiently share data. The Airport also facilitated a state-of-the-art cold-chain facility and supported the certification of a CEIV Pharma community, enabling the Airport to handle a broad range of time and temperature-sensitive goods from bio-life science products to fruits, vegetables, flowers and proteins, maintaining product integrity and increased shelf life.

DFW presenters include:

  • John Ackerman will kick off the Innovation Stage series and welcome participants to learn more about DFW Airport by sharing how cargo channels will benefit as a result of DFW Airport being a thought leader in the industry.
  • Khaled Naja will discuss how advances in civil engineering can be applied to airport infrastructure. Pre-fabricating a portion of Terminal C and moving the modules in place after construction saved the Airport money and time and reduced the impact on passengers and operations.  This innovative construction technique was the first of its kind at an airport and sets a new industry standard for constructing airport terminals.
  • Paul Puopolo will showcase how DFW Airport is approaching digital transformation and “future-proofing” airports. This work will prepare DFW and the industry to be more resilient and how technology can have value now and in the future.
  • Robert Horton will share DFW Airport’s journey to be carbon net-zero by 2030 – twenty years ahead of the United Nation’s goal of 2050. Mr. Horton will also discuss how DFW Airport became America’s first and the world’s largest carbon-neutral airport.
  • Bill Nesbitt will facilitate a panel that will focus on cargo digitalization. This discussion will focus on how cargo organizations can use tools like the cargo cloud to be more seamless and efficient through digital transactions.

The 31st CNS Partnership Conference will be held at the Arizona Grand Resort and Spa on May 23 – 25, 2022. To see the agenda, please visit the CNS partnership website.
