The New Terminal C Will Be a Sight to See
DFW’s busiest and least-updated terminal is getting a complete overhaul – from curb to gate – with a total reimagining of the customer experience. In partnership with American Airlines, the approximately $3 billion project will transform the terminal into a modern and spacious experience with major facility enhancements, including:
- Removing more than 400 view-blocking columns.
- Installing new dynamic glass windows.
- Raising the roof throughout.
- Delivering all-new customer amenities, including shops and restaurants, lounge space, check-in areas, security checkpoints and improved restrooms.
Terminal C is Growing, Too
In coordination with the first phase of the reconstruction activity, a pier-style expansion will add gate capacity to Terminal C and feature brand-new concessions, restrooms and seating. Once complete, the expansion will add 115,000 square feet of facilities and be home to nine gates, rebuilding five gates and adding four net new gates to Terminal C.
Terminal C’s parking garages are also getting major upgrades. In strategic coordination with the first phase of Terminal C’s overhaul is the complete reconstruction of the adjacent south parking garage. The new garage will be rebuilt with modern parking management technologies and more parking to accommodate growth from the terminal’s expansion. Renovations of the remaining two garages will follow alongside other phases of the terminal work.
