In March 2018 DFW Airport achieved IATA CEIV Pharma Community status after four cargo stakeholders completed rigorous training, testing and facilities audits to earn the highly valued pharmaceutical handling designation certifying their expertise in the safe and efficient handling and transportation of pharma/ bio-life science goods. We are delighted to support our IATA CEIV Pharma Community members, Expeditors International, dnata, B.I.G. Logistics and SCL Cold Chain. This year our four CEIV Pharma community members will go through a recertification process to reinforce their commitment to the safe handling and transportation of time and temperature sensitive bio-life science products and retain their IATA CEIV pharma status. We are also excited to welcome a new member to DFW’s IATA CEIV Pharma community, DFW based American Airlines Cargo. Adding the hub-based carrier AA Cargo further strengthens the airport community’s pharma capabilities with their extensive domestic and international network. North Texas has one of the fastest growing bio-tech and life sciences sector in the U.S. DFW’s IATA CEIV Pharma community’s capabilities could play a major role in supporting the development of a pharma distribution and/or manufacturing cluster in North Texas as well as stimulate further corporate relocations in this sector to the DFW metroplex.
