DFW AIRPORT, Texas (July 21, 2025)
Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) today announced the selection of two artists to create the first of more than a dozen public art installations as part of the reimagining of Terminal C and the new Terminal F.
Artists Jen Rose, of Dallas, and Pae White, of Los Angeles, were selected following a global call for artists to create site-specific, large-scale art that will be installed in the first phase of the reconstructed Terminal C when it opens in 2026.
Both artists were selected by DFW airport following a rigorous evaluation process which included a panel of distinguished experts from the Dallas and Fort Worth art communities. These new art installations will capture the spirit of North Texas, creating a unique sense of place and ambiance in Terminal C.
Prairie Haven
Rose’s piece honors the legacy of the Blackland Prairie – the native ecosystem that has enriched the lands throughout North Texas. This art installation will align with DFW’s focus on sustainability – capturing the textures and colors of native grasslands through delicate porcelain forms threaded onto brass rods. The art installation will serve as a captivating and elegant centerpiece upon completion, suspended from the ceiling in a passenger sitting area immediately following a new security checkpoint.
Celebrating Trinity River
White’s suspended art installation celebrates the Trinity River, which geographically connects the cities of Dallas and Fort Worth. Using a lightweight, custom aluminum chain system, the piece will depict the region’s flora and fauna in a flowing, tapestry-like form, honoring the area's natural history. Suspended above a high-traffic escalator and stairwell area, this vibrant and atmospheric installation will greet passengers as they descend toward the baggage claim area.
DFW’s public art program currently features about 30 permanent installations. The collection will grow by 60 percent over the next six years as the airport adds 16 new installations. The airport is committed to commissioning art that enhances customer experience, transforms public spaces, and reflects the cultural vibrancy of North Texas. Global art consultancy and production agency MASSIVart is managing this multi-phased call for new artists and art installations for DFW.
