Plan Ahead: Construction Detours and Travel Crowds
With major construction continuing to progress across DFW’s terminals and roadways and various detours in place, travelers are strongly encouraged to arrive informed and prepared.
- Arrive early: Customers are encouraged to arrive no later than two hours before domestic and three hours before international departures. To navigate fluctuating traffic activity due to passenger volumes, DFW encourages travelers to utilize apps with live traffic conditions to help plan drivetime to the airport.
- Detours ahead at Terminal B: Various detours are underway to support construction activity, including temporary detoured access into Terminal B. Stay alert for signage to guide you along any detours and temporary changes to traffic flow.
- Consider public transit: DART’s Orange Line provides direct access to Terminal A, while Trinity Metro’s TEXRail connects riders to Terminal B. Additionally, Trinity Railway Express (TRE) offers service from Dallas and Fort Worth to CentrePort/DFW Airport Station, with terminal access via the TRE Link shuttle. For details on transit schedules and fares, visit DART, Trinity Metro or TRE.
