Prioritizing Environmental Stewardship

DFW is committed to building a holistic and systematic culture that encourages environmental stewardship in all aspects of its operations. DFW maintains all necessary environmental permits mandated by state and federal regulatory agencies and leverages its Environmental Management System (EMS) to create a practical framework for achieving the airport's sustainability objectives. DFW’s EMS intentionally focuses on measuring environmental performance in areas such as compliance, emissions, energy conservation, waste reduction, and water and biodiversity protection. DFW’s sustainability strategy is intentionally designed to balance conservation goals with business priorities, ensuring environmental stewardship delivers a measurable return on investment. As an example, in nearly two decades, DFW’s energy performance initiatives have yielded more than $12 million in cost savings on an annual basis.
