(DFW AIRPORT, TX – May 5, 2011) – DFW International Airport today welcomed the inaugural Spirit Airlines flight from Fort Lauderdale, an Airbus A319 which was greeted with a DFW Department of Public Safety “shower of affection” water cannon salute as it pulled into Terminal E. Spirit Airlines brings twice-daily nonstop service from Dallas/Fort Worth to Fort Lauderdale along with twice-daily nonstop service to Las Vegas.
“Spirit Airlines offers a tremendous benefit to the passengers of Dallas-Fort Worth,” said Jeff Fegan, CEO of DFW International Airport. “Spirit adds not only great service to great leisure locations at very competitive fares, but also a spirited sense of fun to our passengers.”
