DFW Airport Expands Capacity for International Flight Arrivals
Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) International Airport’s Terminal D can now accommodate more incoming international flights thanks to an additional three new gates located in the corridor connecting international Terminal D and Terminal B. The new “swing” gates can host either domestic or international arrivals, and will enable incoming international passengers to go directly upstairs to the Customs Hall via a newly opened two-story corridor built between Terminal D and Terminal B. The new gates were needed because DFW Airport has greatly expanded its international air service in the past three years, with DFW now serving 59 international destinations.

DFW Airport Adding 9 New Gates in Terminal B
Construction is also underway in Terminal B where 9 new gates are being built. The expansion is part of DFW Airport’s ongoing $2.3B Terminal Renewal Improvement Project to redefine its four original terminals. The new gates B30 to B39 are expected to be ready in April. They will serve American Eagle, which is expanding its flight service.

Mid-Cities Boulevard Construction Passes Halfway Point
Drivers who travel to DFW Airport via Mid Cities Boulevard from the west side are seeing a new and improved road come to life. Construction to widen the two lane road to a four way divided road is now more than fifty percent complete. The half mile stretch of roadway connects the northbound Texas Highway 360 service road to West Airfield Drive. Construction on eastbound Mid Cities Boulevard is now complete, including a newly-built bridge over Bear Creek. Traffic is now rerouted to these eastbound lanes to enable construction on the westbound lanes, where the drilling of piers for the bridge in the westbound lanes is now underway. The 2.8M construction project is on schedule to be completed during the summer months.
