Aeromexico Launches New Service Between DFW and Mexico City
DFW’s growth continues with fourth new international carrier in the past 18 months
Aeromexico, the global airline of Mexico, today launched new service between Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) International Airport and Mexico City. The inaugural flight was welcomed at DFW with the Airport’s traditional “shower of affection” water cannon salute from the DFW Department of Public Safety, as well as a delegation of North Texas business leaders. The route features twice-daily service utilizing Aeromexico Embraer E-190 aircraft, which seat up to 99 passengers.
“It’s always a great day at DFW when we see the arrival of a new international carrier, and we are especially pleased to welcome Aeromexico flight service to Mexico City,” said Jeff Fegan CEO of DFW International Airport. “We are confident Aeromexico passengers will find outstanding customer service and facilities once they arrive here at DFW.”
"For Aeromexico, the beginning of this new service between Dallas Fort Worth and Mexico City is a great announcement", said Jorge Goytortua, Aeromexico Senior VP Global Sales. "This is a very important destination and great addition to Aeromexico's network because of the business relations, cultural and economic ties and the size of the Hispanic community on the region. We are truly confident that our passengers will be very satisfied with our service and the extensive connectivity that we'll offer within Mexico, Central and South America".
Aeromexico is Mexico’s leading airline. It carried 14.3 million passengers in 2011 and offers more than 550 daily flights to 45 destinations in Mexico and 34 international destinations in the United States, Canada, Central and South America, Europe and Asia. Aeromexico is a founding member of SkyTeam, and other members of that global airline alliance serving DFW include partners Delta Air Lines, Korean Air and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines.
The arrival of Aeromexico continues DFW’s sustained and successful run of adding new international air service. In the past two years, DFW has added 12 new international destinations and four new international passenger air carriers, marking the most successful period of international expansion in the Airport’s history.
DFW becomes the 18th U.S. destination served by Aeromexico. Aeromexico becomes the tenth international carrier to provide service from DFW.
