American also adding three new domestic destinations to mainline service, continuing DFW air service momentum

American Airlines today announced it will begin new daily international service from Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) International Airport to Lima, Peru and to Seoul, South Korea, starting in the spring of 2013. American will serve Incheon International Airport in Seoul with Boeing 777-200 aircraft starting on May 9, 2013, and will fly from DFW to Lima utilizing Boeing 757 aircraft starting on April 2 of next year.

American also announced it would launch new regional jet service from DFW to three domestic destinations, Fargo, North Dakota, Beaumont/Port Arthur, Texas and Columbia, Missouri, starting on February 14th, 2013, utilizing its American Eagle regional affiliates.

“This announcement from our partners at American Airlines is great news for all DFW Airport passengers and citizens of Dallas/Fort Worth,” said Jeff Fegan, CEO of DFW International Airport. “We are seeing increasing interest for international service to the growing economies in South America and Asia, and we are pleased to see American Airlines meet that demand by investing more into their DFW hub.”

DFW Airport is home to American’s corporate headquarters and its largest hub, serving about 85% of DFW passengers.

The new service to Lima marks the thirteenth new international destination added at DFW over the past 24 months, contributing another new destination to what has the most prolific run of new international air service expansion in the Airport’s history. DFW now offers a total of 49 international destinations, with 43 of them served by American Airlines or American Eagle.
