Fire Services Vision Statement
The Department of Public Safety’s Fire Services will be the global leader in responsiveness to customer needs and set the standard for service delivery.
Recognized as one of the world’s foremost firefighting training programs, DFW International Airport Fire Services is comprised of more than 170 firefighter personnel specially trained to respond to emergencies common to airport environments. Crews come to DFW from across the U.S and many other countries to sharpen their skills with our experienced instructors and state-of-the-art equipment.
Qualified through globally-recognized training programs, these firefighters are dedicated to providing the utmost in public safety to the 60 million travelers visiting the DFW Airport each year.
To ensure adherence to higher standards and customization for the Airport environment, Fire Services has developed and/or adopted the following:
- The 2009 Edition of the International Fire Code
- The Construction and Fire Prevention Standards Resolution and Amendments to the Code
- The Airport Design Criteria Manual (establishes specifications for building construction within the Airport boundary)
