The Patrol Division provides law enforcement presence, ensures the safety of persons from acts of criminal violence, and promotes public safety. These procedures are intended to set high professional standards for performance, conduct, and competency leading to the effective and efficient delivery of professional police services.
- Terminal Patrol: Provides law enforcement presence inside airline terminals, and ensures the safety of persons against acts of criminal violence and aircraft piracy under the guidelines of the Transportation Security Administration. Officers use Segway personal transports to efficiently monitor terminal activity.
- Mobile Patrol: Charged with providing 24-hour emergency response capability and actively patrolling the Airport terminals and property. Officers in the division provide a visual deterrent to terrorism and crime, support passenger screening operations, conduct random inspections in support of the Airport security program, process evidence, and make appropriate arrests.
- CCTV Monitoring: Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) supports law enforcement at DFW International Airport, including aircraft piracy interdiction and counter-terrorism.
- Crime Scene Unit: Provides for the detection, collection, preservation, processing, and documentation of evidence, and applying all forensic techniques within the ethical, legal, and professional standards set forth by the DFW Airport DPS.
