Health & Wellness


All regular, full-time employees are eligible to enroll in our benefits program on the first day of employment. We offer several comprehensive medical coverage, prescription drugs, dental, and vision coverage for you and your eligible dependents.


LiveWell Center and Health Clinic

The LiveWell Center is an on-site state-of-the-art facility built specifically for employees and retirees at no cost. The LiveWell program is designed to create a supportive work environment that educates, encourages and empowers employees and their families to make lifestyle choices that optimizes their health, well-being and contribution to the Airport and the Community. Whether you want to get back in shape, create a healthy diet plan or learn how to deal effectively with a long-term illness, LiveWell provides the tools you need.

  • Sports Leagues (Basketball, Racquetball, Volleyball, Golf, Tennis)
  • Personal Training and Fitness Assessments
  • Weight room with cardio exercise machines

The use of the Health Clinic is made available to all employees and retirees to provide health preventive screens, general examinations, urgent care, immunizations and seasonal flu shots, and disease management services. Use of the facility and its services is provided at no cost.


Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

As part of LiveWell, the Employee Assistance Program provides free, confidential services to help you or any of your household members deal with life’s challenges. The EAP can assist with a variety of issues such as: parenting, substance abuse, elder care, financial/legal, and retirement preparation. You will receive up to five free counseling sessions per year, plus a 30-minute consultation per issue with attorneys.

Life Insurance and AD&D Coverage

Basic term life insurance and AD&D coverage is provided to you and is fully paid for by DFW Airport as an automatic benefit of your employment. The life insurance benefit is equal to two times your annual salary. 


Whether retirement is a distant dream or right around the corner, one thing is for sure: you’re going to need money. DFW helps you by providing at least one source of savings through the Savings Plus Plan. The Savings Plus Plan works with your personal savings and Social Security to assist you with a measure of financial security in your retirement years. The plan has two main components: the Mandatory 401 and the Voluntary 457. DFW offers matching provision for both investments.

Get paid to “LiveWell”   

Our Wellness Incentive Program rewards employees with up to 3 days of pay by simply exercising, getting routine health screenings and enrolling in workshops focused on wellness. The program is your gateway to a host of resources and activities to help you, and your family, embrace a healthy lifestyle and make informed decisions about your total well-being.


LiveWell uses an integrated approach to wellness through health assessments, interventions based on education and prevention, and lifestyle and behavior changes. In addition, DFW has been recognized as a “Fit Friendly” organization and as one of the “Healthiest Employers of North Texas.”


Thank you for your Service

Service Awards are presented to regular full-time employees who have reached 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40 years of employment with the Airport. Employees with these anniversaries will receive a certificate presented to them by their supervisor and may select awards from a specified award catalog.


Earn $$$ for your performance!

DFW's Excellence Rewards Program is an incentive plan designed to compensate eligible employees for extraordinary individual performance. The program awards incentive payments to employees based on individual employee performance measured through the performance appraisal. Employees are measured on what objectives were achieved and how they were achieved using job skills and Airport Leader Competencies.


Longevity Pay

Longevity pay is awarded to regular full-time employees as recognition for continuous active service with the Board. Employees are eligible for longevity pay after completing one full year (12 months) of regular and/or probationary service by the last day of the fiscal year. The amount to be paid is $4.00 per month beginning with the first full month of employment, up to a maximum of $1,200. 

Time Away From Work

Time Off with Pay (TOP)

We encourage a healthy work-life balance and provide our employees with Time off with pay. Time off with pay accrues biweekly with accrual rates increasing after specified years of service.

 We encourage a healthy work-life balance and provide our employees with the following TOP leave:

  • Less than 4 years  - 120 hours (3 weeks)
  • 4 through 9 years  - 160 hours (4 weeks)
  • 10 or more years   - 200 hours (5 weeks)

The Health of You and Your Family is Important to Us 

  • Sick Leave: As a regular employee, you will receive 12 days of sick leave per year. Sick leave is paid time off when you are ill, injured, quarantined, or when you receive medical, dental or other health services.  
  • Dependent Sick Leave: Employees may use up to 10 days per year for the injury, illness, or health care of his/her child, spouse, or parent.

Our Emerging Leaders Development program consists of 10 instructor led courses over a 6 month series that focuses on topics such as crucial conversations, accountability and change management. Strategic Plan Map Training

Strategic Plan Map training allows employees to explore DFW's Strategic Plan through an interactive session using Learning Map methodology. Participants learn DFW's strategy and share their experiences with fellow employees to reinforce the mission of providing outstanding facilities and service.


Key Learning Outcomes

  • Know the Airport’s vision, mission, and primary business goal.
  • Relate DFW’s strategic objectives and initiatives to DFW’s business plan.
  • Understand the external forces that affect DFW International Airport and the aviation industry.
  • Understand how DFW’s Beliefs support the implementation of DFW’s strategies.
  • Define DFW’s Key Results (Cost Competitive, Customer Satisfaction, Operational Excellence, and Employee Engagement).
  • Determine an employee’s role in bringing DFW strategies to life.


Tuition Assistance

The Airport, through its tuition assistance program, encourages employees to purse their undergraduate or graduate degree. All regular full-time DFW board employees can receive tuition assistance up to $5,250 per calendar year for pre-approved, job-related coursework.
