Permission to Access West Cargo Gates

DFW Airport Board Operations department is responsible for granting the approval to access the West Cargo Gates.  Due to the proximity of the West Cargo Gate (AOA gate 148) to runway 18R/36L and the high volume of traffic that requires use of the gate to access the Northwest Loop Tug Road or the West Cargo complexes an additional matrix code is required to be added to the employee’s SIDA badge. In order to obtain access in the West Cargo gates specific training is required to be completed. Access to driving in secure areas is a privilege, and one we take seriously.

All ground vehicle operators, at a minimum, will complete the following eLearning unit located on the new DFW Learning Hub website: www.dfwairport.com/learninghub.  The person registering for training shall use the same name as their badge name.  The West Cargo Curriculum includes.

  • West Cargo Area Gate- Runway 18R Emergency Vehicle Road  (e-Learning & video)
  • Guide to Ground Vehicle Simulation (e-Learning)
  • Ground Vehicle Driver Simulation (Instructor Led classroom)

Directions for the location of the Ground Vehicle Simulators are located on the DFW Learning Hub website.  Additional driver resources are available at www.dfwairport.com/operations (i.e. The Non-Movement Area Familiarization Manual for Ground Vehicle Operators).

Once training is complete, fill out the form attached with the employee name, company, badge number, expiration date, and the name of person who is authorizing the access. Phone calls or personal emails will not be accepted for approvals.  Email the completed form to Kevin Parker kparker@dfwairport.com.  Recurrent training will be completed at the time of badge renewal.  Access will not be given without training units completed.
