Beginning in December 2010, cutting-edge, low-fare carrier Virgin America will touch down in DFW. The new airline, known for its innovative amenities and stylish design, will offer nonstop service from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport to Los Angeles (LAX) and San Francisco (SFO). The new, twice-daily service will begin December 1, 2010 to Los Angeles and December 6, 2010 to San Francisco. Virgin America will join AirTran, Frontier, Sun Country and US Airways as the fifth low-cost carrier at DFW. With the addition of Los Angeles and San Francisco, low-cost carriers at DFW Airport will serve 14 total destinations. The list includes both international and domestic destinations such as Cancun, Cozumel, Denver and Las Vegas. The new service provided by Virgin America will provide DFW travelers with outstanding service and amenities such as WiFi on all flights, power outlets near every seat and “Red™,” Virgin America’s highly touted in-flight entertainment platform. Red™ offers travelers 30 films, live TV, video games, live Google maps to track their journey and even an on-demand menu—all via a nine inch touch-screen monitor at every seatback.
