The Airport continues to look for new and better ways to ensure tomorrow's success. At DFW, Sustainability is trusted with tomorrow.

DFW's environmental success recently earned the Airport participation in the Environmental Protection Agency's National Environmental Performance Track Program, and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality's Clean Texas Platinum Award. These programs recognize top businesses and organizations that excel at environmental leadership and performance.
DFW's energy management program has long been noted for its prominence and achievement. In 2002, the North Texas Association of Energy Engineers gave DFW its Corporate Energy Management Program of the Year award and in 2003 the Association of Energy Engineers named Rusty Hodapp its International Corporate Energy Manager of the Year. In 2004, the Texas State Energy Conservation Office and Texas Energy Partnership recognized DFW for its Outstanding Achievement in Energy Efficiency and Air Quality Improvement in the State of Texas, and in 2005, DFW won the Alliance to Save Energy's prestigious Star of Energy Efficiency award. DFW Executive Vice President of Operations, Jim Crites, was named Energy Executive of the Year in 2006 by the Association of Energy Engineers. Finally, the North Texas Association of Energy Engineers has recognized two DFW staff members with their Energy Engineer of the Year award: Larry Kramer, 2007 and Terry Bates, 2005.
The Department of Energy Clean Cities program gave DFW a National Partner Award in 2004 for Excellence in Advancing Natural Gas, recognizing its efforts in expanding the use of low-emission, compressed natural gas vehicles.
In 2007, the Flight Safety Foundation recognized DFW with its Airport Safety Award, recognizing outstanding or significant improvement in the airport safety environment through innovation and implementation of new methods, practices or policies.
Airports Council International called DFW an Environmental Star in the special edition of its magazine North America Centerlines in 2006. The article acknowledged that the Airport has set an unprecedented example as a world leader in energy and environmental stewardship within the air transportation industry.
DFW has received a number of awards for its efforts to support business diversity. These awards recognize the Airport's success in developing minority- and women-owned contracts.
