In 2010 DFW Airport recently began a seven-year Terminal Renewal and Improvement Program (TRIP). You've probably noticed that TRIP is now in full swing in Terminals A and E. Below are details on what you can expect to see over the coming months.
February 2012
PARKING
All levels of the Terminal A parking garage, for gates A1 through A16, are closed for TRIP. Passengers may hear some demolition noise pertaining to the removal of the existing garage structure. A new enhanced parking structure will replace the existing garage.
Terminal B garage parking for gates B29 through B39 is currently closed; however, the remaining two sections of the Terminal B garage and Terminal B Valet are open with ample spaces available.
Currently at Terminal E, some curbside activities such as Terminal Link shuttle bus service and pre-arranged limousine service have transferred to other areas of the terminal roadway. Please be sure to follow posted signage in these areas to the new locations. During the overnight hours, periodic traffic interruptions may occur as we work diligently with a tall tower crane in this area to enable the TRIP project. Regular daytime traffic will not be interrupted.
Please remember, throughout TRIP,
DFW Airport Valet parking will be standing by with abundant space available.
DFW Airport Valet offers ample space to accommodate passenger needs, convenient locations and 24-hour covered parking.
SECURITY
A new expanded security checkpoint at Terminal A, Gate A23 is currently open to ensure speedy checkpoint times as TRIP moves through the first section of Terminal A.
The checkpoint at gate A12 will re-open this winter. When the checkpoint reopens, you can expect to see an expanded, reconfigured checkpoint that will allow for greater efficiency and enhanced passenger flow.
INSIDE THE TERMINAL
Terminal A ,Gates A9 through A16, are currently being renovated as part of TRIP. Please be sure to check the DFW website and mobile website for a full list of
Shops and Restaurants within Terminal A and available via a short ride on
Skylink.
Work is progressing at Terminal E. Currently, there are two cranes on site that are being used to lift structural steel and beams that will be used to fill in the 54,000 square foot area between E17 and 31. This will create more room for ticketing, baggage claim, security and passenger services.
Many changes are coming as we
(re)define your Airport. Throughout TRIP,
DFW Airport Valet will be standing by and you can continue to access the entire Airport on
Skylink, DFW’s bi-directional train with an average ride time of only five minutes.
Thank you for your patience as DFW continues to (re)define world class by (re)defining your Airport.
