Silvercar, a new and innovative car rental company, has launched its first operations at DFW International Airport. The airport-based rental fleet is comprised entirely of silver 2013 Audi A4s, and gives customers the ability to reserve, rent and even unlock their Silvercar vehicles completely through a smartphone app experience.
“We’re thrilled to launch the Silvercar experience with DFW as our flagship airport,” said Silvercar chief executive officer Luke Schneider. “We anticipate our unique model will resonate with the connected business travelers who frequent DFW. Our vision is to deliver a consistently better car rental experience, in a consistently better car, each and every time customers rent with Silvercar.”
“At DFW, we are always looking for partners that can enhance the airport customer experience through exceptional service and the latest technology," said Jeff Fegan, CEO of DFW Airport. "We think Silvercar is a great addition to DFW. Silvercar integrates the entire car rental process with smartphone technology, and that elevates the level of service we can offer to our customers.”
Through the use of technology, Silvercar customers can place their reservation, select and unlock a vehicle with a QR code, and receive their receipt through a smartphone interface (Android and iOS).
To further enhance customer service, each vehicle comes equipped with Google Earth GPS navigation, Sirius/XM satellite radio and a toll tag (actual toll fees will be applied to the customer’s bill). Silvercar has also simplified the return process for its customers with an average retail price for the fuel used and a small service fee.
Silvercar daily rates are similarly priced to comparably equipped full-size vehicles available from leading car rental services.
Silvercar operations at DFW, including rental and return facilities are located at the Airport’s Rental Car Center, which features free and frequent shuttle bus service to all five DFW terminals.
