Travelers Can Now Fly Nonstop to 39 International Cities From DFW |
|
 |
Osaka, Japan, home to 2.6 million people, is DFW’s newest nonstop Asian destination. This new daily service is highly indicative of the growing business and leisure opportunities between the DFW Metroplex and the Asia Pacific. The importance of airline expansion into this market is evidenced by the 24 nonstop flights per week to the region from DFW. In addition to the new Osaka flight, DFW also has service to Tokyo and Seoul, South Korea. The Tokyo flights are offered twice daily, and the Seoul flights are offered three times per week.
As the international gateway to the United States, DFW Airport supports the international trade and travel at the heart of the Metroplex. With nonstop flights to 39 international destinations and 135 domestic destinations, DFW’s position as a mid-continent hub enhances its ability to connect travelers from all over the world.
The 14+ hour flight to Osaka departs DFW at 11:45 a.m. and arrives at Kansai International Airport at 4:55 p.m. the next day. The 236-seat Boeing 777 American Airlines flight will depart from DFW’s new International Terminal D. All of DFW’s international flights are now consolidated in this terminal. Due to more favorable winds, the flight back to DFW is only about 11-1/2 hours. This flight departs Osaka at 6:55 p.m. and arrives at DFW at 3:30 p.m. the same day.
A thriving port, Osaka is Japan’s second-largest city. Known as the financial, trade and cultural center of western Japan, the city’s industry includes shipbuilding, iron and steel production, electronic design and manufacturing, biotechnology and consumer goods. Tourists flock to the 1,400-year-old city’s ancient attractions, including temples, palaces and walking tours.
DFW welcomes this expansion to the Asia Pacific and the economic benefit it will bring to North Texas. DFW’s commitment to increasing international service, both in number of frequencies and destinations, continues to be one of the Airport’s top priorities. |
