DFW Welcomes Alaska Airlines
Travelers Can Now Fly on 23 Carriers From DFW

DFW is pleased to announce that Alaska Airlines began service at the Airport on September 12. The carrier flies twice daily nonstop to Seattle, with one of those daily flights continuing on to Anchorage, Alaska. This direct service from DFW to Anchorage means passengers on the flight will not have to change planes. This additional service to popular Northwest destinations will be extremely beneficial to North Texas travelers.

DFW also has nonstop service to Seattle and seasonal service to Anchorage via American Airlines. The Airport welcomes the new service from Alaska Airlines as it continues to offer more competition and choice for North Texas travelers. For instance, nonstop flights to the following cities were added in recent months: Buffalo, NY; Champaign and Moline, IL; Rochester, MN; Madison, WI; Lexington, KY; Savannah, GA and Fort Walton Beach, FL. Additionally, DFW will welcome its 24th passenger carrier, Spirit Airlines, in early 2006.

The new Alaska Airlines flights operate on Boeing MD-80 aircraft and are optimally timed to connect in Seattle to numerous points throughout Alaska Airlines' Pacific Northwest network:

  • Flight #811 leaves DFW at 7 a.m. and arrives in Seattle at 9 a.m.

  • Flight #809 leaves DFW at 6:10 p.m. and arrives at 8:10 p.m., with continuing service to Anchorage, arriving at 11:30 p.m.

  • Heading back to DFW, flight #808 will leave Anchorage at 6 a.m. and go to Seattle. The flight will leave Seattle at 11:20 a.m. and arrive at DFW at 5:10 p.m.

  • Travelers also can take the red-eye, Flight #810, which leaves Seattle at 12:20 a.m. and arrives at DFW at 6:10 a.m.
The Seattle-based Alaska Airlines has been in business for more than 70 years and consistently receives recognition from top travel magazines, due in part to its high level of service.

DFW continually works to attract new airlines, as well as new and additional service from existing carriers. Alaska Airlines received a welcoming reception from DFW executives, board members and many others when it first landed at the Airport. DFW looks forward to working with this carrier that will take many North Texas travelers to the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
