Skylink Is Open!
NOW THE SCENIC ROUTE IS ALSO THE FASTEST WAY TO CONNECT
Skylink, DFW's new airport train system, is now open to Airport travelers. Skylink provides DFW guests who are inside security with fast and convenient connections between all terminals - existing Terminals A, B, C and E and future International Terminal D. The train circles around the Airport on tracks that are an average of 50 feet above the ground. From this position, passengers enjoy the most scenic view in town – downtown Dallas to the east, downtown Fort Worth to the west, and all points in between. The flashy blue and white trains signal a new era of speed and convenience for guests to experience when connecting!

Skylink is the largest airport train of its kind. The trains currently have the capacity to handle 5,000 passengers per hour, per direction. The system will ultimately handle 8,500 passengers per hour, per direction. The bi-directional system keeps a guest’s average ride time to five minutes, with a maximum ride time of nine minutes between the farthest distances. In addition, passengers wait an average of only two minutes for the trains to arrive.

There are two spacious Skylink stations in each terminal, located at the north and south ends of the terminals. The stations will feature passenger information systems and escalators and elevators for easy access to the station platforms. Each station platform has a 30 foot x 180 foot 2-D colorful terrazzo floor design created by various artists and fabricated by artisans skilled in terrazzo installation.

Skylink is a key component of the Airport’s $2.7 billion Capital Development Program (CDP), which also includes the new International Terminal D, Grand Hyatt Hotel, and airfield and roadway improvements. Completion of the CDP this year will ensure that DFW Airport remains the economic generator for the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. DFW Airport also will remain one of the busiest in the world while becoming even more competitive with other national and international airports.
