It’s Fun in the Sun Thanks to New Beach Destinations |
|
 |
DFW Airport is pleased to add two new popular beach destinations to its already lengthy list of vacation hot spots. The warmth and beauty of Cozumel and Ixtapa, Mexico are now only a few hours away, thanks to DFW’s new service on American Airlines to these two coastal cities. The new flights are the result of DFW Airport’s continued efforts to attract new international service for the benefit of North Texas. These new services are expected to generate approximately $20 million to the local economy and will contribute to the growth of DFW Airport as a pre-eminent gateway into Latin America.
The new air service strengthens DFW’s route network to destinations throughout the world for both local and connecting travelers. Cozumel, just off the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula, and Ixtapa, on Mexico’s west coast, represent DFW’s 10th and 11th Mexican destinations served, and bring DFW’s total international destination count to 30. DFW currently serves more than 160 nonstop destinations worldwide.
The new service is of great importance to DFW Airport, American Airlines and North Texas. The new flights will help strengthen DFW's cultural and business ties to Mexico, and DFW travelers now have more choices and convenient options to fashionable coastal retreats. Nonstop service to Cozumel is available daily and nonstop service to Ixtapa is available every Wednesday and Saturday.
Mexico is DFW's most-served international destination, with service to more cities and more daily departures than any other country. These choices provide the perfect opportunity for North Texans to take a break and enjoy the sunny, warm climate of coastal Mexico. |
