| A new era of inter-terminal
connection at DFW will open its doors in early 2005, providing
fast and efficient flight connections for all DFW guests. With
the opening of the new system, DFW will introduce additional
amenities near areas of the system’s train boarding stations
for guests to use and enjoy!
When the system opens, DFW passengers will board the APM
via either of two stations located in each of the Airport’s
existing four terminals and future International Terminal
D. In order to maximize convenience for DFW guests and enhance
their trip through DFW, these 460-foot stations were planned
with passenger services areas for expanded and improved guest
amenities, such as business centers, seating enhancements,
children’s activity centers and detailed customer information.
DFW’s Guest Services
Center located in Terminal B has received overwhelming
acceptance by its users. Based on this response, a new business
lounge similar to the Guest Services Center is planned to
be included in the APM passenger services area and will provide
a quiet area where guests can use their computers at workstations
or while sitting in a lobby-type lounge chair.
In addition, providing essential passenger information is
a key element to enhancing customer service at the Airport.
Map Walls will be installed at each end of the services areas
to provide an all-Airport view for guests. The APM route will
be included on the map, as well as the locations of shops,
restaurants and other passenger amenity information for that
terminal. Ambassador stations are also part of the layout
designs for these areas so that friendly Airport Ambassador
volunteers are on-hand to offer assistance and information.
For traveling families, a Children’s Play Area is planned
for the passenger service areas with small games, toys and
movies to entertain children while waiting for their flight.
Family seating areas near these play areas are also proposed
for the stations, featuring wooden rocking chairs and children’s
activity tables. New to DFW, these enhancements will help
to create a less-stressful travel experience for children
and their parents.
DFW is pleased with the developing plans for the new APM system
and is proud that its customers played an essential role in
the development of the services and amenities that are planned
for passenger service areas near the boarding stations. Look
for the first area to open with the People Mover and these service
available for use. For additional information on the future
