DFW Airport is committed to involving minority and women-owned
business enterprise (M/WBE) companies in all Airport-related
opportunities.
History has demonstrated that having a strong program
to involve M/WBE companies at the Airport is good business.
A diverse pool of resources enhances DFW's ability to
plan and implement projects to better serve its diverse
customers. DFW actively solicits M/WBE firms for a variety
of services such as professional services, goods and
concessions and construction opportunities - all for
the benefit of the Airport, the companies it contracts
and the North Texas economy.
DFW is proud to state that 31 percent of the Airport's
total expenditures in 2001, or $267 million, went to
M/WBE firms, and that it exceeded its M/WBE goals for
both construction and professional services. Goals for
2002 include increasing by more than 30 percent the
number of M/WBE companies signed up as qualified vendors
for Airport projects.
Strong relationships with our M/WBE partners continue
to be a key element in DFW's fundamental business mix
as these companies assist DFW in building tomorrow's
Airport today.
