| Trinity Railway Express'
(TRE) new service to Fort Worth provides DFW Airport travelers
and employees with a new travel option that is both convenient
and inexpensive.
Since the Trinity Railway Express opened between downtown
Dallas and Irving in 1996, it has provided DFW passengers
and employees the dependability, convenience and affordability
of commuter rail throughout Northeast Tarrant County. The
TRE's new service to Fort Worth represents the first major
joint venture between Dallas and Fort Worth since the construction
of DFW International Airport.
The newly-restored 1931 Texas and Pacific (T&P) station
located at 221 West Lancaster Avenue and the Intermodal Transportation
Center (ITC) located at 1000 Jones Street in downtown serve
as the TRE's newest terminals. The Fort Worth locations will
connect to all current TRE locations in the Metroplex, including
the Centreport/DFW Airport Station, which continues to provide
free shuttle service to DFW Airport passenger terminals by
its two routes, operating two buses every 20 minutes:
- Centreport=>Terminal C=>Terminal A=>South Shuttle
Lot=>Centreport
- Centreport=>South Shuttle Lot=>Terminal E=> Terminal
B=>Centreport.
