Have you ever returned to DFW Airport from a fabulous vacation
or promising business trip only to realize that you forgot
where you parked your car?
Or, have you successfully located your vehicle but were unlucky
enough to find that the battery had died?
Unfortunately, car trouble is sometimes unavoidable and usually
occurs at the most inconvenient time possible.
Fortunately, DFW will make sure it doesnt ruin your
trip through the Airport!
In December, DFW introduced the Courtesy Patrol program at
the Airport. Customer assistance vehicles manned with DFW
staff members drive through Airport parking facilities in
search of passengers needing assistance locating lost cars,
with dead batteries, inflating flat tires and with other minor
car problems. Courtesy Patrols also can assist passengers
with their luggage, give directions around the Airport and
provide general Airport information. Since the Courtesy Patrols
continuously drive through Airport parking areas looking for
passengers in need of assistance, the program also provides
an added element of security for DFW customers.
Initially, the Courtesy Patrol Program will be a pilot program
that serves Terminal B parking facilities in order to determine
the service needs of DFW customers. Deployment of the customer
assistance vehicles to other Airport parking facilities is
scheduled for early Spring 2001. The test vehicle for the
program is an environmentally friendly, completely electronic
"buggy" equipped with useful items such as battery
cables, an air compressor, ice scrapers, a tool kit and a
first-aid kit.
The new Courtesy Patrol Program will help maintain a sense
of confidence that DFW passengers always can find a friendly
face to help them while they are a guest of the Airport. The
program is one in a series of customer service enhancements
designed to improve the customer experience at every point
of the DFW travel process.
