Police Services (back to top)

General Description

Under general supervision, police officers perform duties in varying aspects of the police services.  Once an officer has received training with a certified field training officer, he/she will then be assigned to the Police Operations Division, wherein they will perform the duties of:

  1. Traffic enforcement
  2. Responding to call for service from patrons or employees of the Airport community
  3. Conducting preliminary investigations of criminal offenses and various other police functions in a unique airport environment

Officers work side-by-side with a multitude of other law enforcement agencies, both state and federal, on a daily basis.  With additional training, an officer may eventually transfer to other divisions within the Police Service such as Special Operations/Solo Motors, Bicycles, K-9/EOD or Investigations - all of which offer a dynamic and rewarding career in law enforcement.

Fire and Emergency Medical Services (back to top)

General Description

Under general supervision, the firefighter performs duties in a Fire Services Division.  Personnel will receive on-the-job training in additional specialized areas in which certification is sought.  Firefighters and paramedics provide the employees and traveling public of DFW Airport with fire suppression and protection, emergency rescue capabilities, and emergency medical first responder services. There are five fire stations located strategically throughout the Airport.  These fire stations house fire quint/aerial trucks, aircraft rescue firefighting apparatus, mobile intensive care units, a Haz Mat unit, and a host of support equipment to meet the demands of DFW International Airport.

Security Services (back to top)

General Description

Under general supervision, guards are responsible for:

  1. Inspecting all vehicles attempting to enter through Airfield Operations Area (AOA) gates
  2. Ensuring that each vehicle possesses a valid DFW Airport-issued AOA decal
  3. Ensuring the each person possesses a valid Security Badge
  4. Inspects cab and underneath vehicles as necessary
