Commendations
The Department is eager to learn of instances where you feel the officer or civilian employee performed in an exemplary manner.
Commendations, like complaints, help the agency gauge overall customer satisfaction with our performance. We encourage you to call or write with your opinions regardless of how they relate to the Department and its employees.

Complaints

DFW Airport Department of Public Safety (DPS) officers have the responsibility to create and maintain an atmosphere of trustworthiness and respect in their delivery of services to the DFW Airport community. Being accountable for behavior is essential to fulfilling that responsibility. The DFW Airport Department of Public Safety is eager to serve you - and your input helps us do that.

A citizen who wishes to make a complaint against a member of the department should contact the department by phone at 972 574 4454 or in person at 2900 East 28th Street, DFW Airport , TX .  After hours, calls may be routed through DPS Communications at 972 973 3210 for the on-duty supervisor.

Except in extenuating circumstances, a complaint is normally not accepted more than ninety (90) days after an incident occurs.

5. Obtaining a Police Report (Back to Top)

Traffic accidents reported on the State's form (CR -3) can be obtained by any of these methods:

The report can be E-mailed, mailed, or faxed to the requestor.

Police reports other than those above may be obtained by an Open Record Request (see #8 below)

7. Towing Information (Back to Top)

Contact Pro Tow Wrecker Service at 817 424 1553.  They have an office located on DFW Airport at 3941 S. 26th Ave.  Arrangements can be made to pick up your vehicle 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

8. Tenant Alarm Information (Back to Top)

False alarms are counted for each twelve (12) month period commencing on January 1 of each year. After the eighth (8th) alarm and upon written notification to the owner/operator, the Department of Public Safety (DPS) will not respond to the premises of such alarm for a period of ninety (90) days. At the end of the ninety (90) day period, the owner/operator may apply to the Department of Public Safety for reinstatement of the alarm for the remainder of the calendar year.

Reinstatement of an alarm requires that the owner/operator provide:

  • Documentation that said alarm has been repaired and is in proper operational condition; and
  • Payment of a $25.00 reinstatement fee.

The DFW Holding Facility is located at DFW Airport DPS Station One.  The physical address is 2900 E 28th St, DFW Airport, TX  75261.  Information may be obtained by contacting the Desk Sergeant at 972 574 4619, 972 574 5439, or 972 574 5576.

11. CitizenPoliceAcademy (Back to Top)

DFW Police Services hosts two Citizen Police Academies per year, one in the Spring and one in the Fall. The Academy meets once a week (on Tuesday in Spring 2009) for 12 weeks from 7 p.m. till 10 p.m.
