The DPS Security Services Division (SSD) is a highly visible component of the Department consisting of over five dozen Security Officers whose primary duties are to control entry to the Aircraft Operations Area (AOA) by verifying identity for individuals and vehicles. The inspection of vehicles is conducted to prevent the introduction of prohibited items.
In addition to these primary duties, SSD Officers serve in other capacities at DFW Airport providing physical security and visitor registration at the Airport Administration building.
