|Since opening in 1974, DFW International Airport has emerged as one of the largest airport facilities in the world, with world rankings of 3rd in operations and 7th in passengers. Nearly 60 million passengers annually expect the highest in customer service and accommodations here.
With more than 29.8 square miles of land, the Airport is planning substantial non-aviation development as well. More than 3.5 million square feet of commercial space is already constructed and occupied, and the Airport predicts a 100 percent increase in available space in the next five years.
With this explosive growth, the DFW Department of Public Safety has answered the call to address the growing demand. Plans are already underway to build a sixth public safety station, with a projected completion date in 2011. Once completed, this facility will offer reduced response times and increased service levels for tenants located at the north end of the Airport’s property.
The DFW Department of Public Safety provides a benchmark for effective public safety for airports all around the world. Advanced technology, the best-trained personnel, and the highest standards of public safety provide travelers and visitors with the optimum level of confidence and safety.
