posted Jun 23, 2008 The Shop, Eat and Services Search is the Answer
Let’s do the important, i.e. fun, stuff first. I am happy to announce that Lovesairplanes won our first drawing for the $75 gasoline card.
There are two more drawings, so keep those comments coming in. The next giveaway is at the end of the week for another $75 gasoline card, and the winner will be announced on Monday, June 30.
So when I travel, it doesn’t matter if I packed five books, a few magazines and a crossword puzzle, I am still going to stop by the closest Airport bookstore and buy one more book. I can’t help it.
But that pre-flight time can “fly” by and sometimes I don’t have time to search out the perfect store. We’ve solved this problem for you by providing a searchable restaurants and retail shops feature right on the home page of the web site. And you can search by more than one variable. In fact, you can search by terminal, as well as by type of shop, restaurant or service.
So, would you like to find Asian food in Terminal B or a place to get a haircut in Terminal C? How about a place for your children to play, a laptop battery or a sizzling steak? With DFW’s long list of restaurants, shops and services, you’ll be able to do a lot of planning before you even leave your house!
Like the panoramic terminal tours, this is just one more way to identify what will be close to your gate and how to get there quicker. It’s a timesaver, which is a real lifesaver when minutes are short. And, for those of you who don’t follow the “vacation calories don’t count” motto, searchable restaurants mean you can better plan out your meals.
But that’s just what I think. What about you?
I’ve saved one of the coolest new features — our new flight tracker — for next time.

| For Once, Something Actually Seems Easy! I know that they say the best way to a mans heart is through his stomach. Well this chick is clearly her daddy's child, because food has got to be number three on my top five list on dating me. I'm one of those people who has just got to eat every 2-3 hours or all mahiem may break lose ! Now we all know that one dealing with travlers can already be a task and most of the employees that you can catch are on a break, doing their best to run away from any one who looks like they may want to stop them for a question, can't blame them though; I being in the public field can totally understand it, not to mention that when I take a "break" I take a "break" It seems as though DFW has read the minds of millions of traverls and provided a tool to help us find our way. No more standing there gazing at a map trying to interput the "your here" key followed by the famous question "How do we get over to this place though?" DFW has created a tool that will allow you, me and the rest of the traveling world for that matter to search for a resturant or service before even landing in your terminal. Now you'll know what you can tell your loved ones (especially the one who never agrees to eat what every one else wants to eat) what their options are. Leaving more time to actuall y eat your food and less time tracking it down! With all tha! t we hav e to do to check in at the airport who needs getting a bite to eat to be a hassel? Ladies we can now calculate shopping time..........I say no more!
