Permission to Access West Cargo AOA

DFW Airport Board Operations department is responsible for granting the approval to access the West Cargo Gates.  Due to the proximity of the West Cargo Gate (AOA gate 148) to runway 18R/36L and the high volume of traffic that requires use of the gate to access the Northwest Loop Tug Road or the West Cargo complexes an additional matrix code is required to be added to the employee’s SIDA badge. In order to obtain this specific matrix code training is required to be completed. Access to driving in secure areas is a privilege, and one we take seriously.

All ground vehicle operators, at a minimum, will complete the following online learning units located on the new DFW Learning Hub website at www.dfwairport.com/learninghub.  The person registering for training shall use the same name as their badge name.

  • AOA Gate Entry System Orientation
  • Ramp Safety Awareness
  • West Cargo Area Emergency Access roadway

The additional new training enhancements are:

  • Guide to Ground Vehicle Simulation (e-Learning)
  • Ground Vehicle Driver Simulation (Instructor Led classroom)

The one hour, instructor led ground vehicle driver simulator session provides vehicle operators hands-on virtual experience of driving the approved routes in a controlled environment.  Once e-Learning and simulator training is completed, a Non-Movement Area driver card will be issued to the employee.  These driver cards are valid for two year.  The simulation training must be completed before your code 136 is added to your new or renewed AOA badge.

E-Learning training units and the ground vehicle driver simulator schedule are available through the DFW Airport Learning Hub at www.dfwairport.com/learninghub.  Additional non-movement area driver resources are available at www.dfwairport.com/operations (i.e. The Non-Movement Area Familiarization Manual for Vehicle Operators).

This new process will start on April 15, 2014 with new and renewed West Cargo applications.  Once training is complete, fill out the form attached the name, company, badge number, expiration date, and the name of person who is authorizing the access. Phone calls or personal emails will not be accepted.  Email the completed form to lfoley@dfwairport.com or kparker@dfwairport.com.

Recurrent training will be completed at the time of badge renewal.  Access will not be given without training units completed.
